"It won't let me put more than one augment of the same name in my armour!"
That's right, it won't. When the EQ devs wrote the code for it, they tried to prevent repeat augs in the same armour piece. They messed up, and some clever folks figured out that augging the same-named augs from bottom to top is a workaround for that designed limitation.
So how do we make this happen?
While there are certainly other ways to do it, those ways are bad, and you should feel bad for considering them.
Prerequisites:
UF/HoT hybrid client from forums, or another client that allows multi-augging. (not RoF2)
Purchase a stack of Class I Augment Distiller from Yenny Werlikanin in Guild Lobby. She'll be in the southwest room near the aug bird bath.
Use any bird bath to augment.
Step 1) Purchase one of each "Adventure Stone" "Adventure Stone II" and "Adventure Stone III" from Merchant Draco (Not Drake!) in the Guild Lobby.
Step 2) Place these in the chosen piece of armour until the bottom aug slot is the only one open for another aug. Baiscally, if there are 4 total aug slots, place all three in. If there are just two slots, place one.
Step 3) Place desired stat aug in the armour piece.
Step 4) Use Class I Augment Distiller to remove the Adventurer Stone just above the stat aug you just placed.
Step 5) Repeat steps 3 and 4 as needed.
If that's unclear, I've created a visual example:
1)
- Empty
- Empty
- Empty
- Empty
2)
- Adventurer Stone
- Empty
- Empty
- Empty
3)
- Adventurer Stone
- Adventurer Stone III
- Empty

4)
- Adventurer Stone
- Adventurer Stone III
- Adventurer Stone II
- Empty
5)
- Adventurer Stone
- Adventurer Stone III
- Adventurer Stone II (Remove with Class I Augment Distiller for next step)
- Infused Chest Emblem
6)
- Adventurer Stone
- Adventurer Stone III (Remove with Class I Augment Distiller for next step)
- Infused Chest Emblem
- Infused Chest Emblem
7)
- Adventure Stone (Remove with Class I Augment Distiller for next step)
- Infused Chest Emblem
- Infused Chest Emblem

And now you have a savage Gorg-style piece of augmented armour!
