For now, my advice is to proceed with the quest and document turn ins / progress. If something goes wrong we can reimburse you items / task updates. I have a feeling this is simply a display bug. If you don't want to risk it I made Pryme aware of the issue you are having and maybe he knows of a solution.

Most changes that I talk about are on the test server, and will still need to be patched over to live before you can see their effects.
