Pets shouldn't need positioning to back stab anymore after level pet 56. Pets are currently not backstabbing from the front and have to be positioned in the back. This shouldn't be the case and they should be able to backstab as long as they have a dagger in the main hand regardless of positioning.

BS is a skill that require the PC / NPC to hit from the back.
Rogues can BS from any angle cuz the aa they have, but the dmg they do is very reduced with that

Yes, that is what backstab is, yunke.
However, mage water pets starting at "Vocarate Water" and higher should no longer require positioning to backstab.

But remember, emu servers dont have all the codes that works on live servers, so if the code is " new " it wont work ( maybe they can add it manually, dunno how this work )

only thing i can think if without going through the source is maybe adding the rogue aa to the pet weapon and see if that works. Doubt it but worth a shot. Besides that id hafta dig through the source and see.

For the record, SoE implemented first a "push companion" AA which allowed you to litterally push your pet in front of you which, while figting, made it 'fly' to the opposite side of the mob, but it raised more issues than it brought solutions, so in the end, waterpet were allowed frontal backstabs, which had a lower success rate though than from behind. That said, dpswise, my tests showed you will get more dps with a fire pet equipped with booms stick than a backstabbing from behind water pet equipped with two daggers (which is wrong imo, but that's another point).

That's how It was on live only if the fire pet was in melee range. Fire pets had some great Aggro resources via raids too which was nice, but higher on once you got like frenzy burnout max with max extension and all that good stuff and you could pocket him for the right water took over.

Yes you are right, unfortunately we don't get the new FBO AA here on Imperium, I think this an EQemu limitation. The old one sucks totally btw, don't spend points in buying that AA, I did the mistake...
If I may add, this is the typical unjustice for casters on EQemu servers, the AAs are bad, at least for mages, the good stuff came later in the game and is not available on EQemu servers. Thinking of course of FBO II, of pet HoT, pet "discipline " tanking AA, pet DA, pet Fade AA, and so on.
I really miss all those...

I agree with all the feedback and again trying to position a pet for back stab in groups as well as solo is a pain. Not sure if their is a code that if someone has aggro for the pet to circle around and auto attack from back. Even that would be better then nothing. Just a thought just wanted to utilize the new cool weapons and use pets for dps and not just for tanking. Boom sticks are nice but survival is null. The happy medium is daggers cause they do have a smaller heal then health swords but still dish out some nice damage.
I actually had a really fun time running a dagger in main and boom in off hand for both the effects on water pet. I hope some additions take place adding or making pets better to use all the new features being release. Thanks again for looking into this all the pets need more love with all the new juggernauts your implementing in the game much appreciated.
