Pets disappearing after every battle

Pets are currently disappearing after every battle regardless of whether you tell them to "power up" or not. I'm not sure if the pets are actually powering up if you don't tell them to but they are definitely de-spawning. This started happening after the 4/2 patch. I play a mage so I can speak to their pets firsthand, though it sounds like it's happening to other classes as well.
