I've figured out a rather expensive way of bypassing this being disabled. I found it very odd that some items I could put two Jewlers GoD augs in to, IE the Legion cloak from Tacvi, and others I couldn't, IE the Caster cloak from Tacvi.
Turns out that if the duplicate aug you are trying to insert in to the item is occupying the top aug slot, it will not allow you to put it in to the item. However, if that same duplicate aug is occupying the bottom aug slot, it will let you insert it in to the item. It doesn't matter if the top slot is type 7 or 8, it seems consistent throughout.
Let's take a MM ring for example. There are currently no augs in the item to begin with. You insert a jewelers aug, it goes in the top slot which in this case is a type 7. Now you try to put another jewelers aug in there, and it won't let you. Start over, item has no augs in it. You put a dummy slot 7 aug in there, then insert the jewelers so it forces the jewelers to slot in the bottom aug slot. After that you then remove the top slot aug and are suddenly able to insert a second jewelers aug in to your MM ring.

Maelik. You're like the loophole master. It's somewhere between super useful and someone needs to keep their eyes on you. There's a fine line between loophole and exploit But this is a nice loophole.

LOL. Well I know the intention here is for us to be able to put identical augs in the same piece, so no exploit =)

My issue is that there are a few things which I would like to augment but aren't allowing it at all. Like putting a jeweler aug into the discord charm or a boomerang. Jeweler lists range and charm, discord and boom have the slots, but it's a no go for me.
Try it. I dare you.

Jewelers aug is armor only - boomerrang is a weapon

Jewelers aug is armor only - boomerrang is a weapon Boomerang has no weapon stats though. You can augment the tacvi range items with the jewelers aug. It also lets you augment the caster book from tacvi, but it does not let you augment weapons with them (for obvious reasons).

I know it has no weapon stats but I made/marked it as a weapon when i Created it in the database. It was originally going to be a bow type but then I switched it to a non damage weapon.
