The Phoenix:
You can now turn in your Epic 3.0 or Keepsake to unlock the click and focus as AA's. The Phoenix will keep your items, so ensure you are ready to lose them before handing them in.
Special note: When your 3.0 is complete and your planning to prestige to a new class, ensure you "hail" the Phoenix and follow his prompts to "Rebirth".
If you "return" you have borked yourself, as that is not the prompt The Phoenix gives you. Read what he says...
Sub-Classes:
These are in the testing phase currently. When you turn-in your 3.0 it will say you unlocked that sub-class. If you're not on the testing team, you will be flagged for the sub-class but will not have access to it yet.

So I just got my first 3.0 and am still on my original class, which I plan to play for a while longer. I'd like to turn my 3.0 in and get the AAs. If I were to change classes after turning my 3.0 in via the Pheonix prompts is there any risk of me being "borked"? I don't really understand what the issue being refereed to in the OP is so I don't want to turn in my 3.0 for fear of encountering a problem later on. Thanks!

If you finish a classes 3.0 simply follow The Phoenix's prompts after you hail him/her/it.
Reincarnation -> Rebirth.
You don't even have to select a job at that point, just say "rebirth".

We have put it back in the oven as it was only half baked.
