Leveling
1. Make a mistmoore hotkey right away! [ #zone mistmoore 41 -277 -181 ] the one must have from him is his dagger. Instant invis is incredibly useful for breaking charm at will. May sound suicidal, but there are many times when it’s better to take a beating than let a pet run wild. Grab his cloak and his staff while you are there. Evac and life taps are useful.
2. #zone guildlobby -45 289 1 when you first land in game. Hail Grandmaster Guru and say " train " He will activate 2 level 1 spells you may or may not find in your spell book.
- Lvl 1 Advanced dire charm: Dire charm mobs up to lvl 75. High level differences will cause the spell to resist.
- Lvl 1 Hastening of Imperium: best haste in game, provides 12 effects, many hidden. The big ones are haste, gingerbread men swarm pets, increases pet damage by around double, and boosts ATK. This spell does not scale with level. The only thing that changes as you level is it's duration. To cast HoI on a charmed mob, detarget it then retarget it before casting
Tactics
- Avanced dire charm is a big boost to have at the early levels. It’s dire charm! No need to worry about charm breaks here unless he gets dispelled!
- Fight level appropriate mobs. Anything with 10+ levels on you will likely resist most of the spells you throw at it. If it takes out your DC pet you might find yourself at bind.
- Root/Rot. Root is incredibly resistant to breaks from dot damage. Good news! Dots scale are super mana efficient! With enough + spell damage gear(3-4 artifacts), you can root + DoT your way through most zones with a single DoT.
- Face tanking- when the going gets tough, the tough get tougher! Blood ember vambraces [ around #zone sebilis 116 -1233 -103 ]or Breastplate of emblazoned souls(SK Pop armor) stack with boon of the garou, trickster's augmentation, and night's dark terror. Use this to your advantage! All of these procs benefit from spell damage and heal amount.
- Each tier you beat, go to the progression guide at [ #zone guildlobby 22 288 2 ] , say pets. The Ogre will give you sets of pet weapons to help you on your way. If you are on during busy times, ask in /ooc for better pet weapons and people will get you really good weapons for melting face.
- Between level 75 and level 80 you will need to root/rot more, make friends, run with lower level DC pets, or use your short duration charm
Level 80 stuff
- Secret Pocket: at level 80 [ #zone guildlobby -74 396 2 ] buy a secret pocket from Merchant Draco, and malachite from Merchant Drake. This was added because there are some times when DC just isn’t available. He’s actually a darn good tool in a lot of situations. He has a ton of HP, and can out taunt the best warriors. He has enough juice in him to take down HF named with help from his handler, and he’s just useful enough to save a tank from a few massive hits or buy enough time to remember what CC is!
Summon one, Mage gear it, sword of health rank 5 it, get some MGB's, HoI it, then suspend minion it. Then do it again if you are fighting in a zone you won't be charming in.
- Focus effect- “improves the power of certain summoned and animated servants"
1. This effect will increase the HP and level of your secret pocket.
2. Abyss infused earring of summoning < acorn of doom (greedy goblin-1500 AA) < abyss infused enhanced minion (fairly common type 3 HF aug)
- Pet weapons: Tank pets should be using sword of health rank 5 it has a bigger heal. Dps pets should use the staff of boom and stiletto of stabbing. Charm pets don't backstab like you would expect so treat most things like tanks.
- Charm
1. Short duration charms: Some people think that enchanters can't do anything until they get their Smart charm(Quartermaster Ash), however short duration charms are exactly as effective as DC as long as you are using one that's level appropriate. Be warned though hasted pets are super dangerous. I guarantee they will break early and often if you fail to TASH FIRST. Use the short durations above lvl 75 or when you know the fight will be over in 8 minutes. TASH FIRST! Going from 75-80++ you will rely on this tactic as a major component of your survivability. Expect to die a lot, but the rewards are worth the risk! Maybe tash first?
2. Smart charm: 1000 Orum is a lot? Smart charm is worth it! Until you do the transition yourself you won't fully comprehend how immensely powerful and unrisky it is. 1000 Orum is nothing in comparison. And it works up to lvl 95!
3. Reverse charm (you tube video) works well here and is often safer in certain situations. However you lose the benefits of HoI. It stays hasted, but you lose the damage bonus.
- Clickies: Clickies are great, but enchanters work better if you have more spell options. Save your spell gems for your elite CC abilities. Use clickies to expand horizontally.
1. Junk buffs: protect your Dire Charm from dispel! Pick up 4-5 kunark buff clickies any buff. any class. Charm, junk buff, invis, stun, tash, DC, haste, and equip!
2. Blood orchid katana: See Travenro the Skygazer or timeb event for this! Sowing your pet speeds up AA acquisition by reducing travel time between mobs.
*** "Immune to changes in run speed" if it can't be snared, it can't be sow'ed. ***
3. Dots Clickies: Get 6+ dot clickies, make sure one of them is blood ember gauntlets. Snare is the only CC you don't have. And CC+damage = great
4. Tash: if you don't have room on your spell bar, get a tash clicky. Shissar nullifier staff from VS [ #zone karnor -683 -104 11 ] use this until you get the tash spells that say “also increases damage from chromatic- based spells” then keep that one on your spell bar.
5. Wand of the abyss- having your pet in the right position or bunching up mobs us often desirable. Summon minion is invaluable at certain times when you are trying to tighten things up.
6. Imperium majiks- max this out ASAP. Dot clickies and chromatic cataclysm are your main source of damage in major fights.
7. Shard of Raw Energy- pet shrink! If you can’t illusion your pet, hide them from group mates by shrinking your pets into oblivion.
8. Epic- the free rune on this is huge. Use with ward of mystifying.
- Seal of poison/ disease: 250 Orum each on Quartermaster Ash. Each aug can proc a dot that won't break root and does 100-250k over time. Each often crit tick for 50k.
- Root: highly dependable; best CC; better than pacify and mez arguably! The only issues you have is if a sympathetic DD procs. Life taps and strike of [element] will break root also chromatic cataclysm.
- Shissar Death Speaker Staff (soul well): See Travenro the Skygazer or timeb event. After several server ticks it starts pumping life into you. Root + Soul well = HP battery. Let it live and keep reapplying. And yes, it takes time to set up, but you can have a stack of mobs feeding you life.
- Spells
1. Clairvoyance is underrated! 300 mana regen + 6500 mana buff. Wow!
2. Single target stuns- keep your highest level whirl stun up. Not only for pet breaks, but also for reducing incoming damage for 3secs
3. Aoe stuns- keep at least one up for big oh no moments.
4. Aoe slow- you get a big aoe slow that hits up to 20 mobs. Great for big pulls, also the slow is good enough to keep a lvl 79 tank that's barely into infused Augs alive against assault mobs
5.Cataclysm- your biggest DD. 130k. Fast cast. Huge mana costs. That why clairvoyance, scryer's trespass, and mana regen clickies [Earring of the Dragonborn (+10) is the best at this time- inquire with Overlord Mata Muram] are so important.
6. Rune + ward of mystifying: Ward procs an 18 sec mez. It will proc through rune, the restriction is the mobs needs to be yellow of lower. So a mob hits you, it gets mezzed, and your rune absorbed all the damage!
7. Stack your runes. AA rune, epic rune, self-rune, and berserking rune all stack. Abyss infused earring of magic is a 10k snare rune. You also get 50k and 100k runes in ward of the magi and ward of ages.
8. Multichromatic rune :once it get consumed, it procs a PBAoE stun. So aoe stun+ self rune can be cycled to stun lock big groups if you can recover the HP lost before your next multichromatic rune breaks. That's where melee life taps can turn the tables.
- Epic swarm mezzing: Welcome to the world of 3.0's. Click your epic, run around and grab what you think you can survive, gather them up , let them break your rune. Boom! stack of mezzed mobs. Now you have 60 secs to root, slow, and soul well everything or they will own you. Depending what you pulled, sic your pet on some, root some, turn some into hp batteries, aoe slow, remember you only have 60 secs to prepare for the break your survival depends on any action you take during that time.
- Melee life taps: don't fear meleeing. Velketor in assaults will always summon you and destroy you, even if you don't have much aggro! With enough lifetaps, you can stand toe to toe.
1. Breastplate of emblazoned soul
2. Night's Dark Terror
3. Bite of the dark serpent
4. MM staff
5. Veintapper's Stone [ #zone 316 -144 -3778 -305 ]
6. Ultimate Weapon Aug
- Assaults/raids: If you are doing these, then you know how to charm; and enchanters are the best dungeon crawlers IMO. So Shine on, brother!
Zone tactics
- Solc: no charming allowed. CC, root rots, mezes, and secret pocket are all effective, but slow. Most melee classes can clear the zone in one pull so make friends! Secret pocket is fine for soloing the named in here though! Haven’t attempted zuul solo. Charm of the Abyss wont cleanse pet debuffs, so you’d have to tank him and self-cleanse, but his super taunt makes him fodder. The good news is you get 2 of them if you have suspended minion.
- Feerrott2: no charming in this zone either . Use secret pocket, dots, and nukes. Even though the dragons are not slowable, enchanter has little trouble with the named. You have 2 secret pockets, use melee life taps, and burn as much as you can with DoTs and nukes. Caramon is actually an easy solo for the prepared.
- Innyb: only issue here is everything is *** "immune to changes in attack speed". If It can't be slowed, if can't be hasted! *** So no HoI. Just piggy back on friends, or be ready for slow killing.
- HF: charm works only on rats in here. There's one easy to get that always spawns next to scullion. Secret pocket can solo the bosses with help.
** AA gain is nearly even with Thule zones- slightly slower killing, but slightly more AA /kill. **
- House Thule- reverse charm or short duration until you get smart charm. The named have the best damage because they have the highest level and the best ATK.
1. Make a mistmoore hotkey right away! [ #zone mistmoore 41 -277 -181 ] the one must have from him is his dagger. Instant invis is incredibly useful for breaking charm at will.
