Several of these items are mentioned in other locations on this forum, however, I find myself telling all new players I come across in game these things, so I thought I would mention them here.
1) You can use lesson of the devoted at level 1. It is under the special AA line, menu "V" by default.
2) Arguably the best twink item in the game is the Flame Hilted Hammer from Solusek Ro. It has an area effect melee proc and is all/all. Save your money and buy one in the bazaar or if you have a friend, ask them if they can try to get you one. (never beg in /ooc for one)
3) MQ2 is NOT allowed in any shape or form. It will get you banned.
4) You can move quickly around the zones by using #zone <zone name>. You can locate a zone ID by using #findzone <part of zone name>. You can use cords such as #zone Y X Z. (yes, the X and Y are reversed)
5) All zones have the same xp bonus, so level where you have fun. IMO, slaughtering 100 light blues in 2 minutes yields more experience than 20 yellows.
6) Your primary source of plat is your daily quests, DO THEM DAILY! Rewards start at around 6K plat and eventually get up to 96K. If you cannot do your dailies today, make sure to grab the quest. Tomorrow you will be able to do yesterday's daily and then today's daily.
7) Make yourself a box character, even if it stands there and does nothing. Later, a box character will mean double daily rewards, double AA gains, double skirmish rewards, which all help your main progress faster.
8) Take time to read ALL of the change logs listed here. The changes may not make sense today, but tomorrow you will be glad you read them.
9) Play the class(es) that are fun to you. If that means having the easiest time clearing content on your own, you will want a tank class your main with some sort of heal/buff box. If pure dps numbers is what is fun to you, you will want a berserker, wizard, or rogue, or monk. If you want to pull AA trains faster than anyone else, you want a necro. Do not underestimate rangers and enchanters. I have seen some amazing players pull off crazy things with rangers and enchanters. All this said, no class is useless, so play what is fun to you.
10) #zone 0 is the same as succor. It will bring you to a safe place in the zone. Do not use it as an evac to escape combat though, that is considered warp pulling and will get you banned.
11) If you are looking for friends on the server, the most active guild currently is Heroes of the Lance. They have great people who are happy to chat and play with you. There are other guilds on the server, but this is the only 1 I have ever seen advertise for members.
12) Mercenaries are not on the server but bots are. Here is a link to a very good list of bot commands including how to create them. You can give your bot no drop items, the command is #bot inventorygive.
13) Treasure Goblins have a chance to spawn from any mob you kill that is a higher level than you and will drop a bag of platinum and an Imperium's Intensification Item. The " iii " is part of a lifetime quest for an ever-evolving augment. You can either bank them and save them for when your character is maxed out (think of it as busy work for end game) or sell them to other players.
14) Most all clickies have had their class restrictions removed. Ever wished your warrior could have a slow clickie? Well you can on Imperium! Here is a list of several of the great ones available.
15) Epic quests 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 2.5, and 3.0 are available on Imperium. 1.0 is quested the same as live. 1.5 and 2.0 are custom quests, see this link for more information. 2.5 on Imperium is quested exactly the same as 1.5 on live. 3.0 on Imperium is quested exactly the same as 2.0 on live.
16) The description of the server says "solo/box" and it should be known that you can level to max level 100% solo on any character. You will most likely need help with it comes to the custom content and quests.
17) The Imperium's Fury / Magik quest can and should be started as soon you begin playing. The quest is available from the T1 progression guide in the guild lobby. Imperium's Fury increases melee dps by a flat percentage and Imperium's Magik increases the potency of direct damage and damage over time spells.
Help me build this list for other new players! What do you wish you knew on day 1?
Welcome to Imperium!
