I am creating this thread in order to provide all of the information that I can in regards to the Ranger class. I have chosen this class as my newest pet project, in an attempt to offer any feedback regarding how well the class is performing in current content.
I will be recording victories and failures and anything that I feel other players might want to know about the class and how it plays at max level, and for any potential changes that devs may consider for the class in future adjustments.
I would also like to encourage any others who have played the class to include information here as well if it can be done constructively.
Ranger Mode - Activated!

First initial problem - no gameplay effect, but looks mean everything right?? The Plurble Bow Ornament is Primary/Secondary only. Will post this in the bug forum I suppose?

Okay, so lets dive into this a little bit on my findings and feelings thus far:
Just to share a little information, my Ranger Morzan, is entirely abyss infused geared including all armor upgrades from Hates Fury. He is still missing numerous abyss infused aug upgrades and many of the melee augs that drop. He is using abyss bow and two abyss melee weapons. Melee weapons are auged damage, lifetap procs and HoT procs. My bow is auged with ranged damage, Hawkeye, and the Trickshot aug which can proc the Hail of Arrows.
So far I am really enjoying going ranged with the class, sicking back and slinging arrows in a barrage against multiple enemies when I am grouped with pals. Melee seems a bit to be desired for, as the class just doesnt take a hit very well. I am satisfied with the damage knowing that I still have multiple upgrades to chase after including Imperiums Fury upgrades, Epic 2.0, shawl, ring, and more augs.
My biggest fear at this point though is going to be on the solo-ability of the class, even once I get these available upgrades. As mentioned above, the ability to take a hit just seems a bit off the mark compared to other classes. No, I am not trying to compare a ranger tanking against a warrior. I dont have any true data, but the "feelling" of the class that I am getting so far, as that even my beastlord and Zerker mitigated incoming damage in a superior way.
More info to come - this is just initial feelings, far many more upgrades to come and testing and fun to be had!

Its been a bit since I have updated anything here, but in my defense I have been out of town a good deal and not made as much progress as I would like.
As of last night my ranger is now maxed on gear augs, has the Rank V Imp. Fury, and EPic 2.0. I am still lacking the ultimates but getting close my first...Just 28k AAs to go...
Anyways - With the upgraded gear and now matching augs all around, I can say my melee hits have a much higher max and my bow damage max has increased noticeably. However, in the standard melee round, its often that I see many hits in the single and double digit range. This seems to be incredibly low and unfortunately makes up a good percentage of the melee hits that make contact.
I still seem to tank about the same, anymore than 2-3 mobs at best without the use of disciplines or other fancy cooldowns and I go down pretty fast and hard. I am still holding out that the ultimate weapon aug will help with this a good deal with the added lifetap proc.
Been playing with the AoE Melee disc some as well - sadly it does not seem to shine as greatly as I had once hoped. I do believe that this again goes back to the numerous hits in the single and double digit range but I am not sure without some kind of real testing. I am trying really hard not to compare to my warrior or other classes, but the disc does not nearly hold up compared to the tank neck that other classes use for this same type of ability. Maybe someone with Monk / Zerker or other melee dps classes can fill in their feel for the new disc?
I will also add this: There is plenty of room for improvement with the Ranger class and I believe the staff here is truly open to adjusting the class in some way to make an impact on its playability as the server progresses. I am excited about the potential prospect of things that could happen here!
Cheers!

I am coming close to obtaining my first Ultimate Weapon Aug for the Ranger, and I am honestly having second thoughts about dropping the 60K AA's on the Ranger...
Spent some time in a killer group the other night, but noticed how much we could have benefitted from a class that could offer a little more healing and utility to a group of this nature. Kinda makes me seriously consider beefing back up my Paladin for super-tanking and on par group healing.
Please comfort me as you see me on the server once these AA are spent - crossing my fingers here that it won't be a bad investment!

pally won't benefit as much as ranger with an ult aug. only thing pally really gets out of it is the increase in base damage, they are already near unkillable. ranger will benefit from the other stats and the lifetap. rogue gets the most out of ult wep aug because of backstab dmg.
