I finally got my SK epic 2.0 with Shield Wall, infused 2H damage, and a HOT aug.
I am trying to get an idea of what is used at high end so I know what to work for. Mostly for mass pulling.
Does anyone use 1H with a shield, or is 2.0 just he way to go?
I picked the vendor HOT over the lifetap because I was leveling and did not proc often. The HOT helped more than the lifetap at that time. I assume this would no long be the case...?
I will try to post pictures when I get home.
I gather my horde of soon to be deadies (in elemental zones, can't do F2 mass pull yet) and use my AOE neck buff along with my epic buff. I have been doing this for a little while and forgot we have Leechcurse dis that adds a lifetap as well. Since the epic and neck are both on 6 min cooldown, it works.... Thoughts?

neck doesn't wear off, in case you didn't know. i think you just have to refresh it when you enter a new zone. the attk buff of it wears (maybe?) but the aoe component stays. So you can still pull and aoe, it's just a lot harder to survive without the epic buff up (it's also a large part of the reason i stopped playing again recently... day after I got 2.0 it got nerfed pretty hard)
Personally I'd do large pulls for when you're ready to use 2.0, and use the discs to keep you alive for smaller ones. the lifeproc disc keep me pretty topped off, you just have to be able to clear the stuff fast enough.
as for the weapon advice, i think most just use 2.0, but i dunno if the practice has changed with the nerf. what you want to save up for is the 2h aug off of goblin... it's like 3.2k or something, and it helps a hell of a lot more than the HOT aug.

2.0 Sloth Get Out The Way Infused Damage
Why? More Base DMG and lifetaps. You want your white damage as high as possible.
Reaper's Revenge in your bow will help as well for crippling blows.
Always have Umbral Skin up. Use Decrepit Skin right before the horde reaches you.
The major deciding factor on where you can mass pull and how much will be your AC and heroic agility.
You need to be lifetapping equally or more than your damage taken. AC mitigates damage and heroic agility helps you avoid attacks.
Stay in Kodtaz and Qvic while you build your AC and AGI from Infused augs until you can start pulling SolC.
Don't waste time in elemental planes. Kodtaz should be the lowest zone you farm.
Infused neck lasts for 15min unless you zone. Also, Shield Wall is garbage IMO.

I got a good laugh at the "nerfed pretty hard" comment. A couple extra minutes cooldown is a hardcore nerf? LMAO!
The neck click does wear off, it's fairly noticeable that you are no longer doing AoE melee.
I have altered you Epic, pray I don't alter it further. Mwhahahahah!

I have altered you Epic, pray I don't alter it further. Mwhahahahah! you doubled the cooldown. I had finally gotten to the point where I could farm AA decently, and then that got cut basically in half. It also made harder encounters that I used to solo with a struggle into an impossibility, since I couldn't juggle between discs and epic lifetaps. There IS no second round of lifetaps coming from my epic that I had to try and survive until. it's not my place to say whether that nerf was necessary or not, that's not my call. but yes, that's a pretty hardcore nerf for someone at my gear level. it's pretty damned hard to progress in the later stages without piggybacking off of somebody significantly more geared than you, and in this case, my AA gathering ability was halved if I wanted to do it on my own. (i didn't "quit" because of this, but it sure made the scratch-the-eq-itch feeling feel complete earlier than it would have)

I've done SK from level 1 to max gear no box, no bots, no outside help, all items looted from mobs I killed 100% solo. This was before 2.0 existed, and it was fun doing it. So I know it's not needed, you just need to use everything available.
Deathblade or a 1H and shield, LT augs, potions, tribute bonuses, clickies, using every single thing in the class' arsenal. I never used discs or things with a cooldown to AA farm.
The problem is people make an SK and expect to clear F2 the second they hit 80. It takes time, and you work up to it. I usually spend a week or two in GoD zones gearing up and farming AA after hitting 80 before I even touch the custom zones, and I progress just fine. People get spoiled jumping from PoP gear to Infused. It trivializes a lot of content.
Natural progression is lost. It should be elemental gear, then time gear, then yxtta/uqua gear, then muramite/qvic gear, then txevu gear, then tacvi gear, then avatar gear, then infused, then abyss infused. Being able to skip 75% of the server's content with money is part of the reason people quit after a week or two in my opinion. But I know it's an unpopular opinion.
The reward is much sweeter when you work hard for it.
This isn't directed at you or anyone in this thread, just anyone reading it. Anyone who has done the solo purist toon will testify how much more satisfying and fun it is.

dude a lot of us who still scratch the old-school-feel EQ itch these days don't have the kind of time required to grind like you're talking about. the reward isn't sweeter for spending countless hours grinding AA for minimal advancements... it just feels like I should be spending that time with my family instead.
people don't quit because they're tossed an easy route. they quit because the server is ezmode for a huge chunk of time with lots of advancement, and then it switches to really hard with a ridiculously huge grind at the tail end. nerfs like this only exasperate it. yes, part of that is because natural progression is lost, but it's the reality of the server experience at the moment.
i did a lot of the progression on my own as well... to the point of soloing caramon on my own fairly regularly before I stopped playing the first time years ago. when i started back up this time i joined you guys in the guild for the company, and enjoyed my time with you all thoroughly, but it didn't change the fact that the grind at the end is pretty insane, and it just doubled again with this nerf. I only had 2.0 for a day, so I was doing most of it with my 1.5 lifetap... it wasn't the intensity of the buff so much as the duration and timers of it that were important.
if I had the kinda time I did in my teens, i might feel that the reward is that much sweeter, but the grind being THAT intense at the current endgame, and then slowing down tremendously AFTER I get a huge upgrade... ouch. Two days earlier I could farm far faster with 1.5 than I currently could with 2.0. almost twice as fast. /offtopic
