So, I waited until I finally looted a Darkblade of the Warlord and edge of eternity, both augmented with Deep Crust Fire Geode, to post about this. I duo with my wife playing a druid, we both have max useful aa available at lvl 71. On Gods in time, she usually wants to cast 3 dots, thats arround 11-12k dmg / tic. If I stop attack on enrage, she is IMMEDIATLY summoned. Same If I'm unlucky for a few seconds with procs. Not even talking about changing target a few seconds to grab some adds. So she doesnt use 3 dots anymore, but the same scenario often happens with only 1 dot, thats max 4k / tic. I've played war a lot, including on live, so I believe I'm doing everything I can to hold aggro, but may be I'm wrong somewhere, if so, please help me On the other hand, if she uses rains, that crit for 10k, with 4 mobs on me, I keep aggro on all 4 without doing something more than just a Cyclone blade on inc, no need to switch target, etc. Same for chain nuking (for 16k), she never takes aggro even if I'm using Flame Hilted Hammer So I hope this message won't get cyclone blade nerfed But there is something wrong with dots aggro.

I have seen this exact behavior with my Monk and Shaman. My Shaman is always summoned by a target if I hit it with 2 or more DoTs. I've waited until the target is 50% health and it still doesn't matter. I'm not at max spell damage, but whenever I see a proc message fly by, it's usually a few k per proc and they come fairly often. I'm using weapons with multiple damage procs, near maximum AGI, and the proc buff item from VT.
My theory is that it's just do to the wide gap between spell damage and melee damage. It doesn't help that Elemental armor for Monks (the pieces I've made so far) have absolutely no spell damage stats, whereas my Shaman gets 300+ on every single piece, making him even more of an agro generating machine. Rather than not upgrade my Shaman's gear I'm just delaying DoTs a bit. It's about all I can do because I need the extra DPS to keep going.

I've had the same experience with any class that can dot. My Mage can cast one maelstrom and hold agro the entire time or chain nuke and never pull. Shaman casts three dots and rips it from my warrior, Maelik, around the second tick of dmg as if he wasn't even there. That's with a dark blade and quarken, both fully auged. All chars have full aas, and shaman is using 1.5 which should further reduce agro (it's the reason I think it takes a couple ticks for him to get agro).

My theory is that it's just do to the wide gap between spell damage and melee damage. May be, but then chain nuking and rain at the same time should drag aggro as well ? With Glitterfrost (9k, 16k crit, 3.2sec casting) and Cloudburst (same dmg, rain, 3 waves) thats 18 to 32k dmg/tic, without aggro. What if the problem is something dot related, not dmg related ?

It is dot related, have seen this occur on several servers in the past. I'll see if i can get in touch with some old contacts and find a fix to this issue.
