I just lost four of the five items for a smithing combine due to "Inventory Desyncronization". I lost:

Avatar Essence
Infused Hammer
Infused Boot Mold
Drop of Blood

Somehow I didn't lose the sheet of metal.

I did not lose this on a combine attempt. I lost this by cancelling the forge window. I realized I had zero smithing skills. I was going to go train it when they disappeared. Zoning and relogging did not help. I'd really like to get these items back as they are not cheap and took some effort to get.

I hate to say it, but start farming again. You'll probably have time to gear and aug several chars before you get any kind of response.. I had the same thing happen to me almost 2 months ago and still haven't heard anything.
