So I have this very peculiar issue right now. I tried creating a warrior (Canderous). Once I clicked Submit or Play or whatever, I crashed with a Sony error, and now when I try to log onto THIS server, my account keeps getting this message: "The instruction at 0x76ef8e19 referenced memory at 0x00000014. The memory could not be written."
What is odd is that, on the same computer with a different account using the same client, I am able to log onto this server. With the account I had the error on, I can log onto another server just fine, but as soon as I try to log onto this server I crash immediately after clicking on the server with this error message. Any ideas? did it hate my warrior's name?! I'm not a big fan of it myself, and would gladly have the toon deleted if I could log on! please help! PM me for account name if need be
EDIT: I didn't mention this in the original post, but I restarted my computer and did some updates after this crash occurred, and was still getting this error. I also re-installed my version of the EQ UF client, and tried logging in again, and I'm still getting this error. This can't be a coincidence that THIS ACCOUNT cannot log on but my other account can.

turn off mq2 and try again, that is if you use mq2.

I tried that too on a hunch, and I still crash...should have mentioned that in my original post as well
EDIT: I want to preface that yes, I use MQ, but I ONLY use it for the boxing stability and being able to check mobs that are up so as to manage my time in the game effectively. I don't create a million macros to automate my gameplay, and I DEFINITELY don't use warping, and frown upon the use of it and have told people as much who have asked me about the use of MQ on the server (you know who you are). I just want to be able to get back on with my main account on the server and get back to laying waste to Vex Thal! This issue is so confusing in how it is COMPLETELY isolated to this account, on this server. Completely mind boggling...

so I posted this bug on EQEmu as well, to see if this is an issue anyone in the community has seen before, and a developer named Joligario mentioned this in his reply to my post: "If it happened during character creation, have the server admin look at the character's checksum value. If it is all 0, I have seen that boot the client every time. If that is the case, deletion of the new character usually fixes it."
So if someone could check for the character named "Canderous" and see if these values are whats causing the problem and delete the character from the server, I would GREATLY appreciate it!

How many toons do you have on that specific account? if you made more that 4, then you can crash and only way to get back in is to have one of the toons deleted.

This could also be the issue then, since the warrior I was creating would have been the fifth...since when did creating more the 5characters on an account cause an issue?

I have had it cause me issues every since I started playing EQEMU years ago. Every time I made more than 4 characters per account, I would crash logging in and then never get back on. First time it happened, I was out of ideas so asked a GM from another account to delete that character since I thought it must be corrupted or something, and once it was deleted everything worked fine. Then awhile later the same situation, tried to make a fifth character on an account, and the same problem occurred. Had a GM delete my new character I made and all was fixed. Every since I knew not to do it, except one time I wasn't thinking and I did it again and same problem.
I would ask a GM to delete that new character and see if that doesn't fix the issue.

I'm having a similar issue on just one character on my account. Name is lightbringer. When I go to log in, I have to log in a different character on the account first and then I can log him in or else the client will crash.

Im assuming lightbringer is a paladin? If so and you use mq2melee it will cause paladins to crash consistently. If not then im not sure so maybe zeph can figure it out.

This really isn't the same situation as mine, as in my case u couldn't log my account into this server at all. You could at least log into the account and log a character in on that account; mine would crash immediately after selecting the server...I'd suggest posting a new thread so that you're issues will actually be reviewed and from a better perspective, instead of in a thread where the issue has been resolved...

I wasn't aware they had issues with mq2melee, but thanks. I was getting the same errors as you, so I didn't feel it was worth a separate post. Slightly different circumstances caused the errors, however the error messages were the same.

Since you put me on that path I found a solution to the paladin problem. If you grab the mq2melee.dll from the mqemulator compile at mqemulator.net/downloads.php (I used the underfoot / classic comiple) and replace that dll in the underfoot compile, it should fix the crashing. Ever since I did that I no longer crash on my desktop or laptop.
