Hello,
I'm experiencing a weird problem using the Underfoot client that nobody in-game was able to understand or has even seen before.
Whenever I visit zones that weren't created with new graphics outright (such as Commons, Freeport, Nektulos, etc.), I am unable to attack any mobs.
When I try to cast spells, the spell immediately reacts as if I fizzled, but the message states something along the lines of "Your spell would not have landed on your target." (That's not the exact error message but close enough). If I try to melee the mobs, literally nothing happens. The target selection strobes red/white as it should, but my character does not attack, and I get no combat messages regarding the target. Also, when I'm in these zones I don't get aggro from any mobs.
I can fight just fine in zones like Crescent Reach or the tutorial, and I'm sure others that I haven't discovered yet.
I don't have MQ2 installed so I'm not accidentally in ghost mode (suggestion from players), and I do have a weapon equipped properly (not a noob mistake happening here). I'm also not using any front-end loaders, I'm loading the game straight off of the eqgame.exe file.
I set up the install according to advice and guidance of the players in-game and the forums. I was told that the wiki is out-of-date but I followed that and updated based on what players told me. I copied my original UF folder and renamed it UFImperium, and applied the Imperium-specific spell and AA files from the Mediafire link on the forums here along with the Gingerbread Man update which I got from the wiki. I re-created the shortcut with the patchme tag at the end of the line, basically just copied the original and changed the path. All is set up properly.
The ONLY thing I can think of is that this is a copy of the UF client that I used with the EZ server. I don't recall customizing anything in specific though, but that doesn't mean that I didn't. Could this possibly cause the issue?
Thanks!
