when I run the imperium patcher, after it completes the patching process, it just says "Close" instead of "Launch Everquest" does anyone know why that might be? The patcher files are in the same root folder as the game.

Sounds like you have an error in your patcher JSON file. Please go to our Discord, in the #game-questions chat check the pin. You should find a download for: ImperiumPatcher.json
Drop that in your clients folder and overwrite the old one. Then fire up the patcher and you should be good to go.
Never manually edit that file, the patcher doesn't like that. heh (If you move the folder that your client is in to a new directory you'd need to do this again.)
Happy Adventuring!

Just want to add to this. I was having the exact same issue after I installed Imperium on my laptop. I followed the fix suggested by Strum and while that did get Imperium to launch, everytime I would launch the game afterwards the patcher would find the same five files needed to be updated and none of my UI files, chat options, or settings would be saved and I would have to redo these every single time.
What I discovered is when the patcher updates files it only sends them to one file location which is C:\Imperium_RoF2_v2.0 - so if you extract the client files anywhere else (in my case I extracted them to C:\Program Files (x86)\Imperium_RoF2_v2.0) I would get the error described in the original post and when I did Sturm's workaround the game would launch but none of my settings or layout or anything at all would be saved.
You HAVE to put all Imperium related files into C:\Imperium_RoF2_v2.0 . The patcher will in fact create this exact folder location and put all the patched files there so for everything to work 100% the only file location that will work is C:\Imperium_RoF2_v2.0 .
Hopes this helps new players in the future.

The patchers json file when fresh and unaltered will automatically assign the correct path the first time it is launched from where-ever.

I just updated this because my epic 3.0 AAs were still showing up as Unknown DB strings and the patcher as I had it wasn't re-downloading the spell file, even when I deleted it! BUT...I noticed it detected a mismatch in the UI and overwrote Urdraco's recent correction that moved the Destroy and Done buttons further away from the bags (which I thought was a good change). Is there a fix for that, or just re-save that UI update into the folder after I patch?
