I once gave up on Caramon completely. This hard-hitting beast of F2 knew where my bind was and ported me there clinically. So I gave up, for months I played around with things. maximizing, discovering, collecting. Whatever edge I could find, I employed it into an arsenal of survivability and devastation used only by the Master of the Abyss himself, Rastilin Majere. To some classes, Caramon is a speed bump, others he is a challenge, but to the wizard, he is a speeding bullet train plastered in wizard parts. Every edge I can get, I think to myself....

Spells:
The battle will come down to one question. Can you mitigate his damage bursts every 30 seconds? Take a look at the following screenshot.
480,000 magic damage every 30 seconds. 75% spell shielding - leaves 120K hp in one burst.
What if he follows it up with a flurry?
How many rounds can you survive?
Step 1- Maintain HP from his white damage
Before you get to his damage spike you will need to maintain 100% HP or you wont have the HP to survive. Trick out your MM battlestaff like the above. You'll thank me later! You can maintain your HP through the white damage and his DoT damage.
Step 2- Timing is everything. EVERYTHING!!! set a timer!
I mean that literally. You have 30 seconds to pop your doppleganger. He will last 60 seconds. Too early, he won't be up for his second burst. Too late, you are probably at bind. It takes a few seconds for Caramon to take aggro on your doppleganger too, so I go at 15 secs. You can build enough aggro to keep him on the doppleganger before he gets summoned, and he will eat Spike 1 and spike 2. You will steal aggro as you go, just feign him off back to the doppleganger and use your /stand hotkey quickly and turn on autoattack again. Remember this is a race, you can't maintain this forever. By the time doppleganger drops, Caramon should be at 50% or below and you have 15 seconds to prepare for the Spike.
Step 3- Maintain focus. remember your training.
This is where your mettle gets tested. Mitigate that third spike and you are on the right track. I use Abyss Infused Necklace- barkskin at the 85 second mark along with abyss infused earring, and Ward of the Magi(50K rune). This combination will create a rune and layer a barkskin recovery on you for after his spike. This is the time I click my Celestial distillate also. I prefer Magi first because I WANT the rune to be consumed so barkskin can save me.
All that will be up after this spike is Ward of the Ages, your 100K rune. That will be cast at 115 seconds. It should get you through the last 10% or so and the final 29 seconds of your life, or Caramon's…
Final thoughts:
1. Spell rotations are important here because you can easily run OOM. I know you want to spam Meteo endlessly, but you will be doing too many other things and still need gas to finish the race. Always keep your mana above his HP.
2. Start the fight with intensity of the resolute- its cast time is too long to waste during the battle- follow it up with prolonged destruction.
3. Long spell casts will reduce the effectiveness of your tanking weapon. Longer casts:less melee time. Short casts: more melee heals. Suggested: Stick to Meteo, Pure Wildmagic Rk III, Wildmagic Burst Rk II
4. 3.0 pets, Gingerbread men, and Elemental protection pets: a well timed back pedaling feign or Mind crash can make Caramon turn onto your minions. Can you make him spike your minions regularly? Talk about precision timing!
Rastilin Majere appeared to be in shock, as he was last seen in the Plane of Time repeatedly asking the same question, "Have you seen my brother?"
