So now that I've got my hands one one I've found that it's inferior in every single way to the Tacvi Paladin weapon, the Bloodstone Blade of the Zun'Muram.
Here is my reasoning:
1. It's 1hs so it has lower dps. The Tacvi wep caps out at 233 base damage and the epic caps out much lower, nearer to 200. Even factoring in the difference between 1hs and 2hs I think that's a big deal. Compared to the SK epic, which caps out at 295, it's quite far behind. Additionally, with 1hs your spell casts eat dps more and you eat more ripostes by virtue of more attacks.
2. It sacrifices the Grimy Stone of the Slothlord augment as a result of being 1hs. (This is a really big deal. In fact, it's the singular dealbreaker for me.)
3. Tacvi mainhand procs a group heal with is unparalleled in its ability to strip agro from everybody. It's so good at this I've even found it problematic at times, despite now looking at it as a wonderful benefit. The proc heals everybody too which is very helpful too.
4. The epic's clicky itself is very underwhelming and it can be used from a bag so there is no real reason to equip the actual item.
Now, with the epic and a shield Humbled's HP exceeds Yurop's by about 2k (Both are max gear minus shawl), owing to the extra aug slots, but in actual testing her tanking ability was markedly inferior, probably owing to the lack of the Grimy aug. The effects from using bash did little to compensate for the drop in hit damage owing to the drop in base damage from the epic weapon.
I just thought I'd put this out there in the hopes of getting feedback from some more experienced people. I'm a neophyte when it comes to paladins and tanking in general so if my thinking is incorrect in any way I'd appreciate any input. Am I nuts for binning the epic?
