I have no idea how possible this is but my idea is for something along the lines of the Cleric Blood of the Martyr viral spells. I haven't looked into the code to see if viral spells are implemented in EQEmu yet but a clicky aug that made all of the Necro DoT's viral for a period of time would be awesome. Pull a pack, DoT one up, hit viral then cackle maniacally as everything gets infected with your plagues. Probably not possible in EQEmu but one can dream

I think it is possible. One of the Shadowknight subclasses on Eriviyn has a clicky DoT that has the chance to spread on every tick. It's not super powerful unless you mass pull and because of the difficulty of mobs there, I generally never pulled more than 2 or 3 mobs so I never saw its true potential. Here, however...

If there is a way to have a viral dot, then this needs to be what they get. It is by far the most awesome thing i can think of a necro having on this server.

How about a seed of corruption/disease/poison dot procs where depending on what line of spell you cast if the dot completes its full duration on the last tick it will spawn a Demon or undead of some sort that varies in class and in skill depending on what augs you have slotted to aid you in battle creating a demon army. The longer the dot the bigger the demon that can spawn at the end and will stay there until the end of the fight or have a short lifespan and then despawns. Here are a few idea's. Augs Skeleton priest that heal and buff some undead secret spells or something Skeleton casters that cast unique undead death spells of hell and torment Skeleton melee that come with own undead weapons and skills of combat Demon of some sort that cast and has unique abilities zombies that explode Hell hounds that bite and cause bleeding dots Ghost/Spirits/Phantoms that can consume lifeforce/stamina/mana/slow on touch crippling the target. Flesh eating parasite that heals the group/owner I was also thinking they can get a aug that can some a super Demon or Undead or maybe a Super Vampire that you have to use Dire Undead charm to use to control with special perks. Making them feel like King of the undead and controlling them like a real necromancer should. Just a thought still coming up with some fun idea's.

I was thinking of necros and there role as dot/lifetap kings. What would you guys think of a pet that on death exploded and hit everything in lets say a 20 yard radius with a dot with statistic debuff's? Could be a swarm pet chance to proc on spell cast? Just something I thought sounded cool.

I like that idea. What if instead of on cast though it was an aura that had a base chance to spawn one of these pets and the chance was increased a certain % for each npc corpse within a certain range of the necro? Simulates raising swarms of the recently fallen *It would need a base chance for boss encounters where there may not be any trash corpses around.

auras dont work in the traditional sense on emu, only person ive seen to get them working was vaion on thf and he has some intensive scripts to makem work.

Is it possible to summon npc's in the game to aid your fight? If so I was thinking that with necromancers and their ability to control the dead. That if they had a aug spell that can mark a target that can take their soul on death the necromancer should be able to summon them. Of course you can make some tough bosses immune to this skill but it takes up another fun option to have varieties of undead pets as a mage but only pets you kill and it saves in a que and you can only have one pet saved in the que at any given time. The pets can keep 1 of their special skills or just be a regular pet at that marked level like mages illusion pet but with stats changing on a level of a charmed pet enchanter. So basically both merged into one with undead charm.
Just a thought but wanted to share it. I think this would make necro's very fun and people would spend alot of time farming pets kinda like that hunter feeling in wow and different pet classes/skills/types but as undead targets and staying in the lane as a necromancer. Maybe even changing the color code making them all look like a all black version of the model. Or some indicator to show it's a undead version. Or just a title would be fine too.

Legion of the Damned -
Swarm skeleton pets spawn in waves and run to the target and detonate dealing damage. The caveat being that everytime a wave spawns it takes a portion of the necromancers health requiring them to continue to tap get that health back.
I really like the idea of abilities that add depth and complexity rather than just static power. Things that make you play your class rather than just depending on a proc or what have you.

I really like the idea of abilities that add depth and complexity rather than just static power. Things that make you play your class rather than just depending on a proc or what have you. I really like this idea but I want to expand on it a little bit. The concept of having the necros play their class and appeal the aug to maximize that effect is awesome! But what is stopping the Necro from stopping the cast, healing, restarting the cast? Other than instituting a super long cooldown on the ability (Which imo would degrade it's overall usefulness) having the swarm pets being 1 trick ponies really diminishes what we can do with it. My proposal is to have a total of X waves spawn from the necro that do varying things to the mobs. Ex. Wave 1 would be a straight up DD Wave 2 would be another slightly higher DD Wave 3 would be a resist debuff on all targets Wave 4 would be a DoT on all targets Wave 5 would be a crippling Effect on all Targets Wave 6 would activate a viral spell on all targets within range, if the mob dies it will respawn as a swarm pet that lasts for 10 seconds, deals damage to nearby enemies and then despawns. Wave 7 would apply a longer lasting stronger DoT spell Wave 8 would apply a longer lasting stronger Resist Debuff on the target Wave 9 would be a massive DD against the target etc... I would basically want to set it up that the longer the Necro had the spell active, the better the effects would become and the more desirable it would be to have the effect last the full duration (If you can survive it). This would make the spell useful in all situations with weaker mobs falling within the 3rd or 4th wave while stronger targets would last until the 9th-nth wave, if there was a way for the Necro to survive that long. My idea would be that by the time you get to the 9th or 10th wave, if you had any aggro at all, you were going to be dead. Or damn close to it unless you were a god at Taps. Thoughts?

What if it caused damage to the necro at the cost of huge dps output?
