I don't see what needs to be "fixed". It was broken before, the nerf was the fix.
I'm not normally too concerned with what others think about a game I enjoy. I enjoy it, don't really care about how anyone else feels. However, it's really starting to fucking piss me off to see the amount of complaining lately.
Quarken's, combined with the insane defensive abilities of a Warrior and a large number of lifetap augmentations, made Warriors stupidly OP. Every man and his dog made one because of how crazy they were. To bring things back into line, the weapon had the lifetap reduced and was made usable by other classes. The rain of QQ still hasn't ended. This was a FIX, it was a balancing solution. Quarken's became the centre of the universe and even when new, and much better weapons were released, no one wanted to use them.
Heroic stats were starting to cause imbalance and making it hard for GM's to create content that was challenging but still in line with the solo/duo nature of the server. Bringing the heroic dexterity stat back down was done to FIX a problem. Just because you are no longer as powerful as you were before the fix, does not mean that things were intended to be the way they were. It's really sad that every time something is done to make you more powerful, everyone is praising the GM's for their great work, but when they do something to balance content and it makes you less powerful, you fucking complain about them nerfing you when really all they are doing is FIXING things.
So the heroic stat causing the most trouble was reduced to FIX the problem, and you jump on the nerf bandwagon and start looking for ways to fix the fix, instead of trying to understand it for what it is.
No one is forcing you to obtain it. You can still play without it. You will be disadvantaged if you choose not to obtain it, but I really don't see the problem. I'm getting tired of the plat and AA grind to obtain every item available, and I'm quite happy that quests and crafting are now being utilised in a relevant sense. It's nice to actually have to use all of the tools available to you in order to obtain something, instead of grinding the same old shit day in, day out, for weeks on end. This item is great for melee characters that are looking for ways to improve their DPS output. It is not, and never was, intended to be a fix for anything.
TL:DR version, if you don't want to do it, don't do it, just don't fucking complain.

TL:DR version, if you don't want to do it, don't do it, just don't fucking complain. This, but you know what, it don't matter, the gm's have heard the qq so now it will probably go up for plat.. And i'm not mad about that, it's a little depressing sure, I was finally thinking we'd have some questing to do and another use for tradeskills (god how i've been craving some worthwhile tradeskilling) Also things that weren't all about the plat and I was really happy even IF it took some time, I remember quests on live taking months to complete, and that moment you finally did, man, what a feeling of accomplishment!! Theres not enough of that here, within a month, if not less im endgame, fully god augged with 1 of each imperium aug. Do I really feel like i've accomplished much? Not really. Will I feel accomplish when i finally get that 60k aug, more than likely a little bit (what I like to call woot factor but not WOOT!!! lol) I do get a nice sense of accomplishment now when I down CM, but I've stated that before so thats old news. The heroic dex fix is the feels like a step in the right direction, and this was step 2. I hope to see more things come in like i've seen in the past week/week and a half. The server is starting to feel more robust instead of like a one trick pony (dont get me wrong I love the server and I don't mean anything bad by the statement) The GM's work had and I'm really looking forward to this next zone, but it just seems everything is all about that plat /endrant

So now we have 2 options a) buy all items we need for EoS to the players that can craft what's needed b) lvl up a ranger + chanter + cler to do it our own Not bad options tbh

The only part that I've given in to slightly is the foraging bits. They will be added to a merchant for a premium price. The rest of the quests will not be changed and we have no plans of changing them. Pryme loves creating tasks, and he's getting more and more creative with them.
If I were to step back and look at this from a players point of view, I would also be excited that it's something different. It may take a few days or weeks depending on your play schedule and how much time / effort you put towards obtaining the item(s), but in the end I would feel it's worth it.
Also consider this, if the tasks were able to be completed within an hour or two, what would be the point of even creating the tasks? It would be far more efficient to just toss them on a vendor for some amount of pp. Doing so does not add any depth to the game. Like stated above, there's no sense of accomplishment in that scenario. People get bored faster and then move on.
We as developers have to find ways to keep players engaged, and as many have stated before, the constant aa / pp grind gets dull after a while.

Just my 2cp...
I just spent 4 hours doing this quest line. I didnt love it... BUT... I DID IT! AND... I could go back and grab some of those harder to get items (i.e. plains pebbles, cabbage..) and help make them available through an economy growing perspective...
It just comes down to "If its worth it, they'll do it". Otherwise, move on - its not a REQUIRED item... just one more awesome thing to reward those who put in the time.
Its awesome that the Devs are compromising and adding the foraged items to the vendors, but unnecessary in my opinion. If you REALLY want it... make a ranger toon, go sit for a bit, get to know your guildies/other people in OOC....
Second thought - what about instead of adding to vendors for plat - you add as random groundspawns in the zone? Makes them easier to obtain.. yet... still gotta look for em!!

It only takes 5 minutes of sitting in F2 to realise that there are many people who have capped out the content and are now just farming F2 for shits and giggles. Being able to circumvent time consuming quests by throwing plat at them does nothing to relieve the server of this problem. Do as you will, I'm here for the fun and I have plenty of it, but bypassing content by taking shortcuts only kills the longevity of the server. No point in having content if people are just going to buy their way past it.
I'm glad Vinlar put his foot down about the quest. Prefer the foraged part was not vendor purchasable but that's the compromise I guess. Would be way better to encourage people who can and want to forage, to do so, and sell the parts in Bazaar. Much better for the player economy.
