To answer the recurring question about the high end pet weapons, here an important info : The high end pet weapons are NOT the Mystical Swords of Healing rk IV nor the Mystical Swords of Aggression rk IV There is a NPC called "Merchant Draco" which sells (for free iirc) the summoning items allowing to summon three other kind of pet weapons : - Mystical Dagger of Stabbing (ideal for rogue pets, mage and necro, extremely high backstab skill modifier, also includes a heal proc, my pet gets 11k backstabs with those)
- Mystical Staff of Boom (nuke proc, so far I have found it suits the fire pet well as anyhow it is not supposed to tank and doesn't need healing weapons, the fire pet nuke proc upped to 30k apprx.)
- Mystical Mace of Bashing (extremely high Flying Kick modifier and heal proc, I suppose it is suited for monk pets -air pet for mages- but I need to do some parsing, didn't notice anything extraordinary with my air pet for now)
These items are sold by one of the merchants standing at the side walls in GL, whose name is "Draco" and should not be confused with Merchant "Drake" right at the Buffmaster who also sells the mystical swords. I got confused myself and found out...yesterday :-)
I personnally stick to mystical swords of healing rk IV when I need a tanking pet, aka earth pet, as the heal proc has a slightly higher value than the daggers/mace, now I am unsure about the proc rate, so it could be flatten out, needs parsing/testing.
If I have some time, I will do parses so we learn more about the new pet weapons and know how to optimize their use.

Yo Jez, I was telling myself that other people probably did the same mistake I made. I remember Kenichi giving me these better weapons when I was in my 60s and explaining me they were sold at the NPC merchant, and, once at level 80, I kept looking Merchant Drake and kept finding only the sword-type weapons. First I thought it was because I hadn't killed Tunat yet and did not technically achieve GoD ;-)

Air pet isn't a monk. No idea why this myth keeps going on. It is a warrior, just like the earth pet.

Well Kelno is not totally wrong as from the four elemental pets only air and earth kick, earth bashes also and rampages. But air, besides his stun, doesn't do anything typically monkish, like flying kick :-) But all databases indeed consider it being a monk. Well, time to give air pets FK, because the stun is less useful for higher con mobs or bosses !

Well even if it's a flying kick adon, it won't say your air pet *flying kicks* it still just reads *kicks* as it does for monk

Let me rephrase, then: on live, air pet isnt a monk, unless that changed recently too.

Anyhow, it's a pet. And our earth pet isn't a real warrior either, and the fire pet post SoF isn't a real wizzy either, and the water pet backstabs but can it evade or sap ?. So what ? Come on give us a smile Kelno :-)

I'm not sure where this information is coming from. The post 50 pets haven't changed in class since their creation. My first character was a Magician in 1999 so I have a bit of a background with them.
From Allakhazam, August, 2004.
Having said that, perhaps the coding isn't in place for the pet to actually use flying kick, which is why the mod probably isn't helping them. I'm not sure, I know nothing about the coding.

It's just that the different elementals are given stats and abilities approaching or similar to a class, but this doesn't mean they get core features from the said class, and developers change their mind, teams rotate and change and forget what was said or done before, etc.
The air pet and the earth pet were the pets with the least changes over the years, water pet got some revamps (became a rogue in Kunark, was not before, but that just means it got backstabs, and assassinate on low level mobs, which was then be removed somewhere around PoP era because it made corpses poofed which was not good when farming) and the fire pet was the pet with the most radical changes. I played till HoT era, the fundamental changes for the fire pet were pretty good actually, it changed totally from the "wizard" style.

Do these still exist? I do not see them on the vendor.

There's no option like that on normal vendors (Which is what Draco is) Only on the Alt currency vendors, like Morpheus.
