Could pocket pet at 80+ be bumped in power so mages/enchs have a viable solo pet? specifically in end game zones without a charmable mob. Something on par with a slightly worse AG drake.

If the goal of this entire thread is to find a way to make casters more viable... triple cast, burn, enhanced rain etc... then you could solve mag/enc by giving them a viable pet that would compare to anything other classes can do. Dragons are cool, but are no where near capable of tanking or dps'ing for a mage/ench to make them viable, especially when compared to other classes who also get the same dragon.

Enchanters are not real pet classes, allowing them to use the mage pet was a choice made a long time ago to give them a pet they could use in zones that they can not DC in, If they have the AA's than they have a better pet than those that don't. They want a better pet, they can raise a dragon for that pet in zones they can not DC in. They have choices. DC in many end game raid zones is extremely OP, and should not be possible in my opinion. Caster are viable, in group settings they shine best. There are many classes that do better in a group setting than solo. Could they use a little something? yes but they also need to stay true to their class.

What types of changes do you think would be worth looking at Bupu? I have lots of ideas but from a player perspective its hard to know what things are a huge amount of development time and which would be relatively easy to change. Maybe you already have a plan and all of this seems like people complaining which I hope its not seen that way, the server is fantastic.

All ideas are welcome, some things can not/will not be done and will be shot down fast. We are only looking at Magician and Wizard. Enchanters are OP in the right situations and so are Necromancers, Shaman and Druids are also fine and do not require any real help. Those 4 classes are not even being considered for changes so keeping the focus on the right classes is best. We are working on something special for Magicians that I can not say more on, hopefully it helps the class, since I am not the one working on it I do not know when/if it will ever be ready.

Is that thing 'pets can hold aggro over players who are in melee range'?

Wizard "discs" like prolonged destruction are still an hour cooldown. Melee discs have all been reduced to 5-12 mins, if this could be reduced and some extra punch added to it that would help wizards a bit. If it added a chance for additional casts/mana reduction/huge crit damage modifier but was on a cooldown that feels like it would line up well with melee power. Rains are a big part of what holds wizards back in my opinion, they start very strong but don't scale well. If wizards could get a single target nuke like Meteo that hit multiple times and could be focused that would help too (I've seen this on other servers and it worked pretty well since the main issue with single target nukes ends up being scaling with spell power caps). Example Icefury: 2.0 sec cast instant damage 1500-2000 instant damage 3000-5000 instant damage 2000-2500
A similar targeted AOE or PBAE would help as well. With necromancers ae dots ticking for 250k+/tic they're going to have to hit pretty hard and base damage doesn't seem to matter that much with nukes so having it hit multiple times from the base spell seems like it would help.
An alternative to that would be to have the next level of Majiks scale nukes/twincast on nukes and have a very minimal effect on dots. This shouldn't benefit necromancers too much and it would help classes that lean heavily on nukes. Or the current Majiks could be re-tuned to lean a bit heavier on nukes/add in twincast.

first thing is Beast and mages already have the best pet that is not a dragon. and as bupu said enchanters got access to the mage pet to help them when they cant charm. and as stated they are working on mages and wizard to help balance out. also you need to look at where is the dps needed. on raids, group, solo. each choice can change for each caster class.
